Keyboard Cleaning

A good craftsman always takes care of their tools. It sounds like a clichéed platitude but it's a trueism that helps you go far in life while keeping your costs down. A little act of regular maintenance means that your devices will last longer without you needing to replace them. Sharpening your kitchen knives, even with an inexpensive knife sharpener, gives them many extra years of life unlike replacing them when they get dull. Cleaning the air ducts in the house puts less pressure on the central fan system to make sure that everything is circulating correctly, saving you from having to replace the fan as often. My neighbours recently got their roof cleared of moss, and the roofers are claiming that it should add an extra 5 years to its lifespan.
All of this to say is, I cleaned my keyboard for the first time in 2 years. After two years of travelling back and forth and living with Ivy, the poor thing needs a shave.

One scrubbing with a paper towel later, and my keys are back to their normal clackety selves. Success!
Hopefully I'll remember to clean this thing more often in the future.
